Keisha Rodriguez
I am currently a graduate student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the Zoology department. My current research interests are the effects of anthropogenic stressors of coral reef ecology. Currently, I am examining the interactions between the main components of temperature, ocean acidification, and solar irradiance to characterize coral's growth response to increased temperature and increased levels of ocean acidification under conditions of high and low solar radiation.  Furthermore, I aim to define upper lethal temperature thresholds of tropical coral species at present day and future levels of ocean acidification.

Aside from my research, I am currently a Teaching Assistant for the Ecology and Evolution course at UHM. I love interacting and engaging students in all sciences, particularly marine biology. I love all animals of the sea, but really enjoy spending my time with invertebrates and most of all corals. I really want to engage young learners and scientists of the future to learn about marine biology in a new, interactive way by looking at life through the eyes of these underwater critters. So take a deep breath, hold on tight, and dive into the life of your favorite marine animal!
